My 19th Birthday was..

August 31, 2008

amazing.

And it was entirely because of the people i was surrounded by. Yes, i got my tattoo, and that was awesome, but the reason the experience was great, and the reason I was smiling all day was because I have some really amazing friends in my life.

When i went to get my tattoo, I was joined by Kelly, Karen, Chrissy, Kayleigh, Monica and Genesis. Karen, Kayleigh, Monica and Chrissy entirely paid for the tattoo. That was insanely cool. Genesis made me this really sweet braclet, with these colored beads that all have meanings from our friendship.. black and white for soccer games, orange and black for our high school, green because it is me and Dan’s favorite color, etc. It was just cool. Kelly brough me food before we went because you have to eat before you get inked. So really, all of that was what made the day start great. Plus I had 6 girls there with me for support. :)

Afterwards I just spent some time with Kelly because we really don’t get to anymore. She bought me lunch at subway.. which we got half off because apparently I have a tendancy to flirt with food-service industry workers. I just think i am polite and outgoing, but whatever, half off is half off. :)

Then my parrrty. :) Amber and John came over and had brought me a pet fish! It was probably the most random birthday present ever, but it was awesome. So I have a fish named Piereyt (like pirate) now. That’s a long story and sort of an inside joke with them. But I love it.

Monica and Kayleigh made this really amazing cookie cake. It had the music to Happy Birthday written out on it, and was just stinkin cool. Not to mention delicious (so long as you didnt eat the music notes, they would turn your mouth blue lol).

We also got to play some pretty intense Murder in the Dark/Mafia. Which went on for a really long time. Best game ever.

Honestly. That was the best birthday I have ever had. Ever. So I want to thank: Kayleigh, Monica, Kelly, Chrissy, Karen, Genesis, Amber, Johnnier, Barry, Matt, Casey, Katie, Abby, Nicole, Bradley, Nathan, Andrea, Adam, and Ashley for being with my on my birthday. And thanks to Christy, Jon, Alicia, Yaniesy, Darrell, Daniel, Alysia, Jeremy, Brian,Sara, Chelsea and Glen, I didn’t get to see you guys but I felt the love regardless :)

Looove my friends. Thank you all for being amazing and wonderful.

And this is my tattoo for those of you who are cuious and haven’t seen it yet:

To answer the question that I have gotten a lot, and will probably get again: It really didn’t hurt bad at all. a little bit in the middle of my wrist it stung, otherwise it wasn’t painful at all.

What the crap

August 26, 2008

So, today my car failed in a way where I totally cant even be mad, it’s just too hilarious. I went over to the mobile to grab some chocolate milk and white cheddar popcorn.. weird, I know.. not to be eaten at the same time btw. So, I get out of the car and close my door… and I watch my window fall into the door. I just stood there.. thinking.. okay, not sure how I’m going to fix it.. but I want my milk. So I cam back.. and obviously it;s just stuck in there, rolling it up doesnt help and hitting the roll down button just makes a freaky grinding noise. So, I drove home with the window down.. or gone, whatever you want to call that situation.

Lucky for me my dad is good with cars so he can probably fix it tomorrow, which happens to be my day off. And if not, my mechanic is really cool, and will probably laugh and do it for free anyway.

So it’s really just a funny situation, though driving with my window down is going to kind of suck for a while.

And my birthday is only a few days away.. so close to getting my tattoo and having a blast with all my friends that night :) Cant wait.

Love.

August 22, 2008

I love my community group. Last night was our last meeting before we split, and it was definitely bitter sweet. It was a great night of discussion, we read through Collosians 3 & 4 and talked about as much as we could in the time we had. I really love hearing everyones thoughts on what we we’re focusing on. It’s always really inspiring and just refreshing to hear honesty and not Sunday School answers. I am pretty sad we’re splitting up now, but at the same time I’m really excited for the new group. For one, the younger group will be meeting at the KCKC house, so I won’t have to drive anywhere. And I’m glad that we will have the opportunity to really invite new people in to the groups because there will actually be room now. I’m gonna miss the others, but it’s for the best, and I’ll see most of them outside of the group anyway. :) That’s the beauty of creating true community, we are really friends, and we will really have relationships outside of our bible study group.

On that note, Karen showed me this wordle thing the other day, and so I decided to make a wordle of the things, and people I care about. If you want to make one check out wordle.net, you can just type in your blog address and it will make one with the words you use most frequently, or you can just type in a bunch of words for it to put in there. So, this is a blob of stuff that I really care about.

[the words in the wordle if you can't read them all are: Kayleigh, Monica, Christy, fashion, Andrea, Jesus, love, C3, art, Johnnier, Ashley, fun, friends, Chrissy, Adam, church, Darrell, Abby, Nathan, Josh, Tania, Jon, books, Barry, Amber, family, Powerhouse, Crave, music, lifeWay, Jeremy, Matt, prayer, Karen, teaching, students, life, laughter]

I tend to be a very sarcastic and slightly bitter person, so I usually am not the most positive upbeat blogger. So.. to counter that, I decided tonight I will just write some bulletpoints of things that make me happy, make me smile. Things I love, little things that seem extremely insignifigant, but I think are wonderful. For a change of pace..

  • swing dancing
  • feeling like I’m 12 years old
  • chocolate milk
  • reading music and trying to get it perfect
  • flowers
  • doing anything at 4am
  • kids
  • photography
  • the sound of rain on the windows
  • teaching
  • talks with Johnnier in the break room about everything
  • getting cards with little notes inside
  • making people laugh
  • hearing a song that describes exactly what I’m feeling
  • reading books
  • playing murder in the dark
  • looking at the stars, especially out in the country in tennessee or georgia where there aren’t as many lights.
  • finding sticky notes that mean nothing from Christy on my door
  • watching Kayleigh get over excited about anything
  • any time Jon Purvis calls someone an idiot
  • making fun of horrible movies
  • phonecalls from Kelly about nothing in particular
  • hearing Monica yell at people
  • every good ‘that’s what she said’ moment
  • watching the Powerhouse kids dance like crazy on Sundays
  • when my boss says southern sayings I’ve never heard before and reminds me of Billy Ray Cyrus on Hannah Montana..
  • reading on the back porch swing
  • working in the stockroom on Willow Trees (seriously.. I get a lot of happiness from that and I have no idea why)
  • talking with Chrissy about our life drama and laughing the whole way through
  • Michael Bubles voice
  • seeing someone with a nascar sticker on thier car (so I can insult them or praise them for thier choice in driver.. haha)
  • being in conversations with Andrea and Tania about the most random things ever. Often times, Edward Norton.
  • games of catchphrase at community group
  • changing all of the cards in apples to apples with Kayleigh everytime we play
  • hearing Barry yell “Beirut” and “Cribbage Board”
  • spending time with the Cox family
  • taking theme pictures with Glen
  • the interior crocodile alligator video
  • singing off key on purpose with a group of friends
  • the weather in December
  • Billy from the Powerhouse videos
  • Island Joe..
  • hearing my middle school girls still rapping the JoJo song
  • whenever Josh breaks into song at random moments
  • failing at volleyball but having fun anyway
  • Adam’s crazy Joker impersonation
  • ice skating
  • seeing deer on Alafaya in the middle of the night
  • fight nights

A lot of those things center around my friends, they all have these fun quirks about them that I love and I can’t even imagine life without my goofy bunch of friends. I stinkin love each and everyone of them, and there are like a million more I didn’t even mention in there. I didn’t start that list intent on writing about all my friends habits, but they really are things that make me happy, and when I was done, my friends took up half the list. But that’s how it should be. :)

On a completely random side note.. I think everyone should listen to the song ‘Beautiful’ by Phil Wickham. I love it and just think it’s amazing, and I remember the first time I heard it being really struck by it, and it still strikes a chord with me everytime I hear it. Check it out. And in general any song by him. But specifically that one.

tattoo

August 17, 2008

Yesterday, christy decided to get her tattoo done. So we went to the guy that will be doing mine. I gotta say, I’m really pumped about getting mine done now. Only about 2 weeks away until I get mine. I felt bad while she was getting it done though, the foot is apparently one of the worst places you can get a tattoo, so it hurt her pretty bad. I don’t think mine will be nearly as bad. But now that I’ve seen him in action I’m really excited, because he was really chill and fun. So it should be good, and quick

To continue..

August 14, 2008

The blog I wrote earlier was from my phone, and short obviously. But, I feel I need to give a bit more info. The reason I’m so stinkin frustrated, is that I am out of high school, I’m way beyond that crap, I was beyond that crap when I was in high school, so i sure as heck don’t need it now.

I was like.. really, I have to go on my facebook and delete some girls because they can’t act like grown ups? really? Sara about 10 minutes ago tried to re-add me, and i just straight up told her it was intentional, and why. We’ve been messaging each other back and forth for a while.. I still haven’t added her back. I don’t see why I should really. She’s sweet and everything but because she is spending time with Lizzie, she’s changing, and I can’t trust her at all. Sorry, but thats how it goes. And like I said, I don’t play these childish games, I’ve told sara that. I told her the reason I don’t want to deal with it is because she hangs out with Lizzie, and Lizzie is a big bowl of ridiculous drama. So she’s guilty by association, I apologized that that’s the case, but it is so whatever.

I hate that I’m even blogging about this, it’s soooo stupid. Can people just act normal? Why is it that you have to mess with other people? I honestly don’t even care that they told my boss about my other job, it didn’t effect anything, They thought it would, but it didnt. I care that they are screwing with my friends John, Amber and Jeremy. Mess with me all you want, but mess with good people that I care about and I’m not going to sit back anymore.

It just sucks that Lizzie has the power to fire me, because she’s the one person I would seriously yell at at this point. I am past the aggresive fighter stage of my life, but seeing her face brings it back. Bad.

I;m suprised I got through work today without throwing a punch.. for real. It’s a problem on my part too that I can’t look past it, but if she wasn’t such a jerk to begin with I would have nothing to look past.

End of my annoyance rant… :)

(And yes, all this goes down in a Christian bookstore… yeesh)

wow… really, it comes to this?

August 14, 2008

I cannot stand immaturity and mean people. So when there’s an immature mean person I’m at a loss. Lizzie, this girl I work with who was a good friend for about a month is one of those. She is single handedly trying to screw over all of our coworkers. She’s been telling our boss that jeremy, one of the people I like here, is like the worst employee ever. So now my boss is going to yell at him, and he told lizzie, and lizzies new bff sara this and they both get so excited and ask if they can be there when it happens. Wow. Seriously? Get a soul. And its come to the point where I had to delete those 2 from my facebook because they read my statuses and then relay it to my boss. When I got hired at the elementary school, my boss found out before I could tell him. According to john, my eyes and ears when I’m not at work, sara abd lizzie told him the next day. Which was stupid, I was going to tell him the next time I worked so we could talk about how to schedule around it, but because of them he got confused and ticked off at me. I’m freakin over it. And hooray lizzie just walked back in to work and I gotta clock in no

phone

August 10, 2008

Well, I got a blackberry to replace the phone that got lost, or stolen depending on how you look at it. I’m writing this blog from my phone. That’s freakin cool. I really have nothing of importance to blog about, but I can blog from my phone, so I am. Hopefully soon I can get that tattoo and blog about that. Until then, later days.

BigStuf Camp

August 2, 2008

I got home from camp today! Glad to be back home, but the week was amazing. I got to see kids lives change, that was intensely exciting. I got to be a part of these students lives for a vbrief time, and it was probably the greatest thing I’ve done yet. The last night we we’re there, the worship service went over by more than an hour, and all of the students loved it. I hadn’t seen that much energy all week, and it was so exciting to see that passion in them. I got a lot out of the week too, it was just an awesome experience. It was a lot different from what camp normally is.. but it was good in its own way. We got to hear from Andy Stanley, Francis Chan and Jared Herd, and they all had some awesome messages. The whole thing is hard to sum up on a blog, but it was really awesome. I know the students all got a lot out of it, whih was the goal, and I got a lot from it too, it was really awesome.

Aside from the actul BigStuf stuff, us C3 people had a ball goofing off aroun Daytona. Sports on the beach, playing in the ocean, late night Krispy Kreme, blaring gangsta music, asking everyone in the building if they know JoJo, and a bunch of other random things. It was a blast. I’m thankful to the students for being awesome all week and also to my friends that made it even more fun.

Now I can’t wait for the housewarming party Sunday. :)
