I used to always want to go to this when I was a kid, and now I’ve gone the past 2 years.. so weird. I went last year because my friend, Selda, wanted me to keep her company and I had nothing better to do so I chose to sit outside and get sunburnt listening to people I’ve never heard of. This year I went to support Mark & James.
Selda did happen to be there so I said hey, but basically I got there, went to the tent and got a bunch of stickers and cards and headed back toward the crowd to promote. On the way back I saw Michaaael. That was interesting, he works for Channel 13 now, so he was working, and it was weird. I said hey, he said my name and I just kind of kept walking. I would’ve talked but I was busy, kind of, and he was working. Whatever.. it was awkward. So, anyway, while Mark & James played I went around giving people (mostly teenage girls since that seems to be thier core fanbase) stickers and flyers. Great success. I think they played like 4 songs.. I just remember Karen getting mad they didn’t play Best I Never Had, and I remember laughing at Mark’s falsetto, and that one line in So Perfect that makes no sense. After that we went back over to the radio station, I was out of promotional stuff and I was tired of doing it so I just kind of hung around laying in the grass. When the boys came over we hung out with Glen, and Jordan a little. Glen, let me tell you, is one of my favorite people in the world. After a while Karen saw Chris Kirkpatrick, he kind of randomly showed up and jumped into mark & james’ interview with the radio station. Karen flipped out, and we all started talking about how rad Kirkpatrick is. Then that dude Stick?, started interviewing people, and I was trying to avoid him, that didn’t work. He asked me who, other than the guys, was I there to see.. I wasn’t there for any reason other than to help pass out thier stuff so I was like “ummmmm simple plan..” then I saw Glen, bringing Kirkpatrick over. It was the funniest thing in the world, Glen went over to him and told him to come over and meet us. it was so sweet, Glen is just awesome that way. So, we got to meet Chris and get pictures. Which, let me tell you, was cool. When I was a little girl I loved NSYNC, and especially Chris. His mom, Bev, is one of the sweetest ladies ever, and so I always liked Chris. It’s been like 8 years, but still, getting to meet him was something I wouldve died for back in the day, so it was awesome. Kudos to Glen for being crazy and awesome and introducing us.
I’m so not good at recapping events.. so okay, what next. Right, they ended thier interview, which for me meant “I can almost go home”. We basically just hung out with Glen, talking about the most bizarre and random things you can imagine. Mark came out of no where and grabbed me, wanting to know when he can some to church. James was a creeper per usual, long story, but he tends to do awkward things. Taled to jess for a sec and then left, I went to the mall to eat, and then me and Kelly both ended up feeling pretty crappy. So we went home. I feel a bit bad, because one of mark & james’ fans had emailed me asking to see me today, I left before she got there. she was texting me all day, and I eventually was able to convince her Mark and James arent really celebrities so she should probably just go talk to them if she wanted to talk to them. she did. mission accomplished for her.
And on that note, everyone should be at the backbooth show on the 13th. If for no other reason, to meet Glen. Because he is quite fun.
Oh, and I didn’t get sunburnt because I wasn’t there long. Yay.
Tomorrow is the 4th, and I’ll be headed to avalon for some fireworks with friends.
Should be a good time. Then Saturday a cookout at the Cox’s and then off to the racetrack
It’s gonna be a fun weekend
