Camp!

July 28, 2008

Barry is running a little late, so I have a few minutes to write this before I go.

Camp starts today, and I’m really excited to see what God is going to do in the students lives, and mine. It’s just a cool thing to be a part of, so I’m pretty stoked about it. Not to mention some of my awesome friends will be there to have fun with on the beach. I’m not so stoked about early mornings.. but I will deal with it. (Last time at camp, when I was a student, I spent all the ‘free times’ as nap times.)

It’s going to be an amazing week. I’ll see all of you when I get back. :)

Life has been random

July 26, 2008

So, the past week or so has been extremely random. I don’t quite know what to write about everything so I’ll leave it at that.

But, I will talk about how awesome my roommate Christy is. It’s pretty much indescribable,  last night I didn’t go to bed until 4am because we we’re just talking about stuff. It’s pretty much amazing to have a friend like that living  in the same house. I’m pretty stinkin blessed. Not to take away from my other roomies of course. Chrissy and Karen are so awesome too. Yesterday me and Chrissy went out to WalMart, and got pictures printed to put up in the house, and I’ve been doing funky projects making them look pretty freakin sweet in these frames. I think all 4 of us have only ben home together once, but that was a blasty blast. Yeah, I said blasty blast. I have been extra cheery since moving here.

I think the simple things of living in the KCKC house are the biggest for me.. things like

  • dancing around in the living room just because we can
  • leaving sticky notes on each othrs doors
  • watching Just Like Heaven with chrissy while filling out job applications
  • Watching So You Think You Can Dance together and commentating on EVERYTHING
  • finding my room completely covered in bubble wrap
  • sticking black ribbon to christys wall to hide the horrible border
  • making Karen the happiest girl in the world by giving her my old nsync stuff
  • driving home from josh and barrys and it only takes 1 minute.
  • knowing this spot im sitting in will soon be the home of community group
  • seeing awesome pictures of our dysfunctional friend-family on our walls.

So, I basically just needed to say I love my house, I love my roommates, and I love my friends that have and will continue to make memories with us here.

KCKC

July 22, 2008

It’s officially been 1 week since we moved in to the house I am sitting in right now. Okay, well technically the lease wasn’t signed until 11:30isham but, whatever. I’m loving it way too much for words. My roomies are amazing, I kid you not when I say I really enjoy living with them. I hope it stays that way. The other night Chrissy and I somehow ended up doing the cha cha slide in our living room. Why? I have no idea, but it was fun, and there was pizza involved. I love having Christy right next door and being able to put sticky notes on each others doors that are hilarious. I especially loved that last night when I left Josh’s house I was home in about 1 minute. Awesome. I love our big red door, and our funky kitchen. I think I can honestly say the only thing I don’t love, is the giant boat on the staircase. (Darrell, if you buy us a ship in a bottle you are asking for trouble..). Anyway, I just wanted to write a quick blog about the house, since we’re settling in now. I can’t wait for everyone to see it (finished, not like on moving day when it was all boxes). There will be many good times in this house, and I’m excited about that.

Later days :)

Well that’s just freaky.

July 11, 2008

I was getting ready for work this morning and saw this video. I watched it for a minute and it occured to me that the girl (Katie White) looks a lot, enough to be creepy, like my mom did when she was younger. I showed it to my mom and she just lost it laughing. It’s kind of freaky, but it’s cool. So I’m posting it. Plus I like the song, and the band in general.

** i dont know what the heck wordpress is doing but it isnt posting the video.. so here’s a link to it instead.

Red Hot & Boom

July 3, 2008

I used to always want to go to this when I was a kid, and now I’ve gone the past 2 years.. so weird. I went last year because my friend, Selda, wanted me to keep her company and I had nothing better to do so I chose to sit outside and get sunburnt listening to people I’ve never heard of. This year I went to support Mark & James.

Selda did happen to be there so I said hey, but basically I got there, went to the tent and got a bunch of stickers and cards and headed back toward the crowd to promote. On the way back I saw Michaaael. That was interesting, he works for Channel 13 now, so he was working, and it was weird. I said hey, he said my name and I just kind of kept walking. I would’ve talked but I was busy, kind of, and he was working. Whatever.. it was awkward. So, anyway, while Mark & James played I went around giving people (mostly teenage girls since that seems to be thier core fanbase) stickers and flyers. Great success. I think they played like 4 songs.. I just remember Karen getting mad they didn’t play Best I Never Had, and I remember laughing at Mark’s falsetto, and that one line in So Perfect that makes no sense. After that we went back over to the radio station, I was out of promotional stuff and I was tired of doing it so I just kind of hung around laying in the grass. When the boys came over we hung out with Glen, and Jordan a little. Glen, let me tell you, is one of my favorite people in the world. After a while Karen saw Chris Kirkpatrick, he kind of randomly showed up and jumped into mark & james’ interview with the radio station. Karen flipped out, and we all started talking about how rad Kirkpatrick is. Then that dude Stick?, started interviewing people, and I was trying to avoid him, that didn’t work. He asked me who, other than the guys, was I there to see.. I wasn’t there for any reason other than to help pass out thier stuff so I was like “ummmmm simple plan..” then I saw Glen, bringing Kirkpatrick over. It was the funniest thing in the world, Glen went over to him and told him to come over and meet us. it was so sweet, Glen is just awesome that way. So, we got to meet Chris and get pictures. Which, let me tell you, was cool. When I was a little girl I loved NSYNC, and especially Chris. His mom, Bev, is one of the sweetest ladies ever, and so I always liked Chris. It’s been like 8 years, but still, getting to meet him was something I wouldve died for back in the day, so it was awesome. Kudos to Glen for being crazy and awesome and introducing us.

I’m so not good at recapping events.. so okay, what next. Right, they ended thier interview, which for me meant “I can almost go home”. We basically just hung out with Glen, talking about the most bizarre and random things you can imagine. Mark came out of no where and grabbed me, wanting to know when he can some to church. James was a creeper per usual, long story, but he tends to do awkward things. Taled to jess for a sec and then left, I went to the mall to eat, and then me and Kelly both ended up feeling pretty crappy. So we went home. I feel a bit bad, because one of mark & james’ fans had emailed me asking to see me today, I left before she got there. she was texting me all day, and I eventually was able to convince her Mark and James arent really celebrities so she should probably just go talk to them if she wanted to talk to them. she did. mission accomplished for her.

And on that note, everyone should be at the backbooth show on the 13th. If for no other reason, to meet Glen. Because he is quite fun.

Oh, and I didn’t get sunburnt because I wasn’t there long. Yay.

Tomorrow is the 4th, and I’ll be headed to avalon for some fireworks with friends. :) Should be a good time. Then Saturday a cookout at the Cox’s and then off to the racetrack :) It’s gonna be a fun weekend
